Description
Taking the stage for our 94th issue of Posterzine® is the talented paper cut artist Owen Gildersleeve. Owen masterfully applies light and shadow to bring his artworks to life — you can hear the crunch of fallen leaves in his autumnal artwork for the Guardian, or feel the fizz of an erupting Fanta bottle in another piece for the Coca-Cola Company. The tactile, sensory quality of his work has won him commissions from an incredible range of clients, from Apple to Sephora to NASA. Here we chat to Owen about how we got into handcrafted illustration, the rising popularity of paper art, and how family life overlaps with his work
Posterzine® is People of Print's monthly publishing project taking the form of a mini-magazine which folds out into a gorgeous A1 format poster (594x841mm). Printed by Pressision Ltd using (usually) two special spot colours onto high-quality GFSmith Naturalis paper.
